Keegan's Jewelers is fully qualified to do estate and insurance appraisals on all of your fine jewelry. Our experience and integrity insure you of an accurate and correct evaluation based on current prices and values.

An appraisal can be performed on a loose diamond or mounted stones, watches and fine jewelry. If the stones are not loose, the physical properties are estimated using various estimation techniques.

The appraisals is our opinion of the authenticity, design, composition, qualities of and level of insurance appropriate for item(s) appraised. Weights, dimensions, quality grades are estimated with judgments limited by the mountings unless it is specifically stated the stones were examined while unmounted. Identity, qualification and value conclusions are made to the best of the appraiser's belief and experience within the limits of the circumstances of examination. Considerations in the final estimate of value include: Quality grades of diamonds and colored gemstones, metal karatage and weight, quality of craftsmanship, design and physical condition.

Jewelry appraisal and evaluation is not a pure science and is therefore subjective, estimates of value may vary from one appraiser to another and such variances do no necessarily constitute error on the part of the appraiser. The values stated are retail replacement values of the item(s) for the purpose of insurance. Retail value means the price at which each piece would most commonly be purchased by the consumer from a retail jewelry establishment in the business of selling such merchandise and do not necessarily reflect the price at which the appraised or similar jewelry may be purchased. Values do not include sales tax.

Due to limitations created by the mounting, diamond color and clarity grades are provisional, and might be changed by the undersigned if graded out of the mountings at a later date. Diamonds, which are mounted, generally will not be assigned a "flawless" clarity grade, "ideal" cut assessment, or "D" color (highest color grade on the GIA grading scale). If a diamond is accompanied by a laboratory report and can be verified as matching the report, the undersigned may defer to the report for additional information on gems. Unless otherwise stated, all weights, grades and measurements are approximate.
